Neymar set the bar pretty high for the treatment of kids daring enough to evade the presumed menace of security guards and run towards their suddenly real idols during a World Cup training session the other day. But Spain's Gerard Pique (a.k.a. Mr. Shakira) tried to top him by giving 15-year-old fan Venicius dos Santos the warm-up jacket off his back.
Once Venicius made it out to where the players were, Pique called the security guards off, put his arm around the boy and took off his jacket to give to him along with a hug. Venicius then went on his way with a security guard escort as the Curitiba crowd cheered his accomplishment.
Meanwhile, Brazilian born striker Diego Costa — who recently chose to represent Spain over Brazil — was booed and called a traitor by some of the 500 people in attendance. He still gave his jacket to a nine-year-old girl standing by the fence, though.
