Another day, another referee running for his life as a violent mob chases after him. This time, it was after a match between Hristinovka and Zarya in the third division of Ukraine's Cherkasy region.
According to 101 Great Goals, Hristinovka players and fans went after the referee after Zarya won 3-2, thanks in part to a goal scored with a handball. So, faced with a very real threat of violence, the referee ran for his life. And in doing so, he displayed an impressive burst of turbo speed (that was probably developed through years of running away from irate fans in Ukrainian third division matches).
Seeing this impressive display of athleticism, I think it's time we make "referees running from potential skull bashers" an Olympic sport. This skill needs to be recognized on the world stage.
