Referee Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez took a bit of a spill during Valencia's 1-0 win over Granada over the weekend and it resulted in him taking out Sergio Canales with a two-footed lunge. The ref was quick to apologize to Canales, who scored the match's only goal in the fourth minute.
Referees are often accused of bias by paranoid fans around the world, but Gonzalez's refusal to even give himself a talking to for this inappropriate challenge, let alone book himself clearly shows favoritism at work. Or something like that.
