Dirty Tackle

The Copa Libertadores group stage is underway and Flamengo's Leandro Amaral couldn't even make it 15 minutes into his side's match against Leon without getting sent off for kicking an opponent in the crotch. Amaral actually made contact with the ball before he kept his boot elevated and planted it into Luis Montes' sensitive area as he made a run at the ball from the opposite direction.

The referee decided this act was worthy of a straight red and sent Aamral off in the 12th minute. Despite playing with 10 men for the majority of the match, Flamengo still managed to score just before halftime, but lost 2-1.

Luis Montes was carried off on a stretcher, but did finish out the match even though his ability to have children might now be limited.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
