Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has led his side on an fairytale journey this season. They currently top La Liga with a four-point cushion over Barcelona and now they have reached their first Champions League final since 1974, after beating Milan, Barca and Chelsea in the knockout rounds. After coming back from 1-0 down at Chelsea in the second leg of the semifinal to win 3-1, Simeone concluded his post-match press conference with a special shoutout to his players' mothers.

It's not often a manager thanks his players' mothers for giving their sons large testicles, but Diego Simeone isn't most managers. This is, after all, a guy who dresses like a cross between Johnny Cash and a hitman on matchdays. But when Atletico face their more decorated neighbors, Real Madrid, in Lisbon, they will need huevos big enough to bounce down the street on.
