Lazio beat Roma 3-2 in the Derby della Capitale that was typically contentious. The match included eight yellow cards and two players sent off, with Roma's Daniele De Rossi not even making it through the first half before his day ended.
Erik Lamela opened the scoring for Roma in the 9th minute, but Lazio scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the half to turn the match in their favor. De Rossi then helped cement that fact by punching Lazio's Stefano Mauri in the face during injury time, earning a straight red.
Mauri then scored early in the second half to put Lazio up 3-1 and eventually got sent off himself after getting booked a second time in the 85th minute for a handball. A minute later, Miralem Pjanic caught Lazio keeper Federico Marchetti off his line with an audacious free kick from distance to get one back for Roma, but it wasn't enough to keep Lazio from their third straight derby win.
UPDATE: De Rossi has been dropped from Italy's squad for their upcoming match against France since getting sent off for violent conduct is in violation of manager Cesare Prandelli's code of conduct.
