Prior to Italy's friendly with the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Wednesday, manager Cesare Prandelli fielded questions from the media about the likely pairing of Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy up front.

If his Milanese mohawk duo manage to lead Italy to a World Cup trophy in 2014, the 55-year-old proclaimed that he would also get a mohican haircut. Take it away, The Mirror:

“It’s an advantage for us that Balotelli can work alongside fellow Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy on a daily basis. They have enormous potential.

“If we win the World Cup in Brazil then I’ll get a mohican like theirs.”

It seems unlikely that Italy will equal Brazil's tally of five World Cup titles in their own back yard next summer, but the artist's impression above certainly gives an excellent reason for us all to pull for the Azzurri.
