A Burnley fan has been charged with throwing a missile after hitting Joey Barton in the head with a Coke bottle during the second half of a 2-0 win against QPR at Turf Moor.

From Sky News:

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said John Pounder, 26, was charged with throwing a missile contrary to the Football Offences Act 1991 and a Section 4 public order offence of using threatening words or behaviour.

He has been bailed to appear at Burnley Magistrates' Court on November 22.

Barton, who was shown his fourth yellow card of the season in the first half of the match, was the subject of now customary verbal abuse from the stands throughout the game. When the Twitter philosopher twice convicted of violent crimes was hit with the bottle, Burnley supporters young and old delighted in the attack by someone no better than Barton himself.

Here's the exact moment it happened...

Upon closer inspection, the older man on the left of the pictures might have willed this to happen using his mind.
