Besiktas-Galatasaray match abandoned after turning into giant plastic chair fight

Sunday's Istanbul derby between Beskitas and Galatasaray was abandoned shortly before full time when a massive pitch invasion led to a plastic chair fight between fans. With visiting Galatasaray up 2-1 thanks to a Didier Drogba brace, Felipe Melo earned a red card for a two-footed tackle that riled up the Besiktas fans even further. As a stadium full of angry people shouted abuse at him, Melo made things worse by taking off his shirt and holding it up to them just before an avalanche of stewards and chair wielding fans took over the pitch.

Both teams fled to the dressing rooms and the riot police moved in to beat people back into the stands while one scared made tried to protect a pitchside TV camera (see video above).

And while all of this was happening, two Besiktas fans took it upon themselves to set up the best seats in the house.

Eventually order was restored, but I like to think that those two guys sitting in the goal are still there.
