One major potential holdout has been averted.

Vernon Davis capped of his will-he-or-won't-he summer of waffling and misdirection over the issue of his contract by reporting to San Francisco 49ers training camp on Wednesday.

49ers safety/team historian C.J. Spillman "broke" the news on Instagram.

This is obviously good news for the 49ers, who might not have been sure about Davis' intentions. He has made it clear that he wants a new contract, and though nothing has been made official on that front publicly, Davis had to know that with two years left on his deal and daily potential fines of $30,000 had he not shown up, the math wasn't quite adding up.
