Ah, so that's what it feels like when your heart melts.
Six-year-old Breanna (above) experienced some viral attention earlier this month when a video of her young lovelorn lament hit the Internet. Breanna's hangup was that she couldn't marry her favorite football player J.J. Watt because she wasn't 25 years old yet. It was cute, it was adorable and almost 100,000 people sympathized along with her on YouTube.
Luckily for Breanna, one of those people watching happened to be the object of her affections. And when the Houston Texans defensive lineman returned from his Pro Bowl trip to Hawaii he put out a call on Twitter:
That led to some nice matchmakers arranging a meeting between the NFL defensive player of the year candidate and Breanna. Watt brought flowers and got on one knee to "propose" to Breanna with a Ring Pop when they met. He posted the pictures to his Twitter account on Wednesday and the rest of us let out a collective "awwwww."
Watt joined John Granato and Sean Pendergast of Yahoo Sports Radio on Thursday morning and provided some more details:
"I brought her flowers, proposed to her with the Ring Pop. I gave her a No. 99 jersey, a white one, to be her wedding dress for the day. It was awesome and it was great and we had our first dance to her favorite artist, Justin Bieber. It was really, really cool ... It was fun, it was priceless.
Is the couple registered anywhere?
"Yeah, we're registered at Toys 'R Us," Watt joked.
Anyway, what a great story. J.J. Watt won one heart with a simple and kind gesture and made more than a few new fans regardless of whether they wear Texans colors. Nice job, J.J.
