The last time the New York Giants won the Super Bowl, wide receiver Plaxico Burress caught the winning touchdown catch and was hailed a hero in the Big Apple. Since then, of course, he went to jail for a bit after shooting himself in the leg at a nightclub when he was trying to find the gun in his pants.

Burress came out of prison and spent last season playing for the New York Jets, where he pulled in 45 catches for 612 yards and eight touchdowns over 16 games. Nielson Research also named him one of America's most disliked athletes, Forbes reports.

Now the free agent is reportedly interested in leaving New York altogether. NBC Philadelphia sports reporter Howard Eskin bumped into Burress at the Super Bowl and Burress told him that he'd like to play for the Philadelphia Eagles. "Badly!" Eskin tweeted.

That would mean that Burress would join forces with the man who was at the top of that most disliked list: quarterback Michael Vick
