Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning isn't a free agent just yet, but it is still looking like he soon will be. SI.com reports that if the four-time NFL MVP ends up on the free-agent market, he could be offering himself up in a package deal with Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who becomes a free agent on March 13.
"At least two potential suitor teams would seriously consider" such a thing, Sports Illustrated reports. One source tells SI that Manning "would love to see it happen."
SI also hears that Wayne, who spent a decade catching Manning's passes before the QB sat out last season with a neck injury, is "very interested in the combo platter also."
Another thing SI has heard is that Colts receiver Pierre Garcon, who will also soon be a free agent, "turned down a five-year contract offer from Indianapolis last week," a sign that he "doesn't want to do anything until he knows what Manning is going to do."
