New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco had career lows of 15 receptions, 276 yards and one touchdown last season, and the team is on the hook for a $3 million base salary in 2012 and 2013.
The Patriots would like to find a way to change that financial burden, though. Sports Business Journal reports that the team has gone to the six-time Pro Bowler to ask if he will restructure his contract at all. Details of the proposal remain unclear, NESN notes.
Ochocinco joined the Pats after spending a decade with the Cincinnati Bengals. For his career, he's had 766 receptions for 11,059 yards and 68 touchdowns.
