The New Jersey Nets really want to pair up center Dwight Howard and point guard Deron Williams for the team's final year in the Garden State in the hopes of having the twosome together to lead the team when it enters a new arena in Brooklyn in 2012.
And the Nets have been trying on a lot of different trade scenarios to get Howard away from the Orlando Magic. The latest, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, is a four-team blockbuster that would involve Nets center Brook Lopez "and another significant player obtained elsewhere" moving "to the Magic for Howard and Hedo Turkoglu."
However, some Magic execs are still thinking that if Orlando puts together a good season, it is possible that Howard decides not to opt out of his contract and become a free agent next summer, Wojnarowski reports.
Howard has requested a trade to New Jersey, but one source tells Wojnarowski that "He runs hot and cold. …He just doesn't always know what he wants."
