Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, the team's first draft pick in its history, will be a free agent at season's end unless his agent, Brodie Van Wagenen of CAA Sports, can work out a deal soon.

The Washington Post reports that Zimmerman doesn't want to discuss a new contract after Saturday and Van Wagenen showed up at the Nats camp Wednesday to talk to the CAA clients on the payroll and possibly discuss the Zimmerman deal with Nationals execs.

The sides have had no recent talks or developments, the Post reports.

Last year, Zimmerman hit .289 with 12 homers and 21 doubles in 101 games.
