San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili suffered an injury Saturday night and strained his left oblique against the Los Angeles Clippers, but the word Sunday was that it isn't as bad as originally feared, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Ginobili missed 22 games earlier this season and had feared that he might be headed back to a long stretch on the bench again, the paper notes, but woke up Sunday feeling better. His scheduled to undergo an MRI Monday.

"I don't think it is as bad as I feared it was," said Ginobili on Sunday, according to the paper. "Last night it was very bad, but the anti-inflammatories [medications] already are working. We'll know more [Monday], but I am hopeful."

In the nine games he's appeared in this season, Ginobili is averaging 12.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.3 rebounds.
