Utah Jazz forward/center Al Jefferson ended up with an injured right ankle during Wednesday morning's shootaround and wasn't able to play in that evening's double-overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors. Fellow Jazz players were missing the big guy.
"We rely pretty heavily on the post game and so when we don't have that many points and that much of our offense, it's going to hurt," said Raja Bell, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. "When you are missing someone of his caliber, obviously that's going to put us in a bind."
The 27-year-old Jefferson is averaging 18.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this season.
"Al is a key guy for us," coach Tyrone Corbin said, the Tribune reports. "He's a guy, when you put the ball in his hands, he does something good for us."
