Just when you thought you'd seen it all in the recruiting game.
At the Under Armour All-America Game, four-star safety recruit Jamal Adams didn't just use a hat to announce his college decision. Nope. He used a baby (h/t Big Lead). Hoisting his 8-month-old niece in a Tigers t-shirt, Adams chose LSU over Florida on national TV.
"For the next years of my college life as a student-athlete I will be attending the university of LSU," the Carrollton (Texas) Hebron star awkwardly declared.
The decision to attend LSU came as a surprise to just about everyone -- even Les Miles. That's because Adams' godfather, Joker Phillips, is Florida's recruiting coordinator. Apparently, Batman isn't the only one who can foil the Joker.
"Joker was the best man in my wedding and he is Jamal's godfather," Jamal's father, George Adams, who played six NFL seasons as a running back for the Giants and Patriots, told Rivals.com. "But Joker always knew that Jamal was not going to make the decision on just his relationship with Coach Phillips."
The nation's No. 35 senior recruit, Adams amassed 75 tackles on defense while adding 1,092 yards and 15 touchdowns from scrimmage as an all-everything stud this past fall, leading Hebron (8-4) to the second round of the Class 5A Division II state tournament.
And now? "I'm ready to go win some national championships," he told the viewing public.
