Team USA vs. Switzerland Olympic hockey live blog

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – While others debate the miraculous merits of 1980, our focus is on the Millercle of 2010. Team USA opens its elimination round with a game against Switzerland, which defeated Belarus in a shootout, 3-2, on Tuesday. The Americans have already beaten the Swiss once in the preliminary rounds, possessing the puck well in the offensive zone (a rarity in other games).

Two line changes for the Americans: Dustin Brown, who played better against Canada than in previous games, moves to a line with Ryan Kesler and the still-struggling Patrick Kane. Bobby Ryan, who played with that duo against Canada, returns to the Chris Drury/David Backes/Ryan Callahan group.

They'll all face goalie Jonas Hiller, who will be the determining factor in whether the Swiss eliminate the U.S. on Wednesday.
