There are a few must-haves in every Opening Ceremony: people dressed as animals, large groups of people getting together to spell out a word, and circus performers in ridiculous costumes. Without these crucial elements, the ceremony is not a success. Sure, you'll still have the parade of nations, the national anthem and the lighting of the cauldron, but the ceremonies, nay, life, is not complete without 100 women dressed up as baby chicks.
