If you watched Friday night's ice dancing compulsories, you may have thought, "This is it? Basically the same dance to the same music? This is the Olympics?"
Yes is the answer to all those questions, but I promise, it gets much more interesting from here on out.
For Sunday's original dance, the pairs get to interpret folk dances from different countries, so we'll get to watch Meryl Davis and Charlie White's wildly popular Indian dance, and the Aboriginal dance from the current leaders, Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin. Monday, we'll see Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto do their breathtaking "Ave Maria" free dance.
Yes, Friday night wasn't the most mind-blowing competition, but it wasn't the night for the ice dancers to knock your socks off. It's the night where judges get to make apples-to-apples comparisons between the skaters. Hang in there until Sunday, and I promise you'll be hooked.
