China in the lead after two rotations

China and the U.S. continue to battle for the gold in women's gymnastics, with China having a one point lead. The United States delivered a strong rotation on the vault, anchored by Alicia Sacramone, and went on to have a very good rotation on the uneven parallel bars. Nastia Liukin earned a 16.9 after doing a beautiful routine. China, playing a game of everything you can do I can do better, had a similar rotation on the vault, but knocked it out of the park on the bars. China and the U.S. will now head to the balance beam and floor exercise.

One of the interesting subplots of the night is that much like in golf, the top teams go through rotations together. That means that China and the U.S. are going from event to event together, watching each other's every flip and flop. Both teams are being quite sportsmanlike considering the situation.
