In the women's halfpipe, two American snowboarders have risen above the competition in one-upping each other. Gretchen Bleiler (pictured on the right) and Kelly Clark took the gold and silver, respectively, at the Winter X Games, the last major event before the Olympics.
Clark got out to a fast start this season, winning Grand Prix events and quickly qualifying for the Olympic team. Bleiler has the momentum with the Games less than two week away, winning the X Games and a more recent Grand Prix event.
Bleiler's momentum could serve her well as she seeks to complete a ride packed with difficulty. In a side-by-side comparison, Bleiler's snowboarding is more crisp and has more awe-inspiring moves. To beat Bleiler, she'll need to step up her game.
