Andy Murray capped off the greatest 24 hours in British sports history on Sunday with a thorough dismantling of world No. 1 and longtime nemesis Roger Federer in the gold-medal match at the Olympics.

Following the path blazed by fellow British Olympians like Rebecca Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford, Murray won a title in his homeland on the most sacred ground in tennis. And no one was more excited than Big Bird.

Murray pulled the now-requisite Pat Cash move of climbing into his player's box to celebrate with his friends and family after defeating Federer 6-1, 6-2, 6-4. As he did, the camera caught a guy cheering wildly while dressed in the costume of  Snuffleupagus' best pal. If the purple bunting, colored clothing and raucous cheering didn't alert you to the fact that the Olympics don't equal Wimbledon, Big Bird's presence surely did.
