The Buffalo Sabres visit the Jets on Sunday, which means (barring injury or a sudden bout of the "flu") that Evander Kane will make his return to Winnipeg for the first time since … well, all that happened.
To review: In Feb. 2015, Evander Kane allegedly showed up to a Jets team meeting in a “tracksuit.” To send a message to his teammate, Dustin Byfuglien allegedly threw said tracksuit into a cold tub. That allegedly drove Kane to leave the rink and miss the team’s game that night.
On Sunday, Kane steps back onto Winnipeg ice for the first time since the trade. We’ve all been wondering how Jets fans – the NHL’s merriest pranksters – would welcome him. To the surprise of no one, it’s with sarcasm and creativity.
Yes, it’s “Track Suit Night,” which has been in consideration since last October and has become its own Twitter hashtag.
Local media is helping along the effort, as 92 CITI FM's "Wheeler In The Morning" created this "PSA" featuring Kane. (NSFW - LANGUAGE)
And already, fans are gearing up for the event:

(Kudos on finding a tracksuit that still allows for participating in the White Out.)
Granted, we’ve seen other fans that aren’t keen on giving Evander Kane the attention, so who knows how many fans will participate in “Track Suit Night.” But failing that, we’re sure the Jets fans who gave us “Silver Medal!” and tormented John Tortorella will come up with something.
Maybe something as simple as giving Zach Bogosian a roaring ovation every time he touches the puck in his return to Winnipeg while being silent for Kane.
