Tuesday's Three Stars: Four-point night for 'Z'; Tampa's late heroics

No. 1 Star: Henrik Zetterberg(notes), Detroit Red Wings

The Wings took it to the Sharks tonight during a 5-3 win in San Jose. Zetterberg did his part factoring in four of Detroit's five goals with two goals and two assists. Danny Cleary(notes) scored his team-leading 11th goal for Detroit and Pavel Datsyuk(notes) added a beauty for his eighth along with two assists. Jimmy Howard(notes) made 25 saves to improve to 3-0-1 lifetime against the Sharks. Zetterberg's first of the night was pretty nifty as well:

No. 2 Star: Martin St. Louis(notes), Tampa Bay Lightning

Just 1:02 after Nikolai Kulemin's(notes) second goal of the night gave Toronto a 3-1 lead in the third period, St. Louis scored his ninth of the year to keep Tampa close. With 8.7 seconds in regulation and the extra skater, St. Louis blasted a shot from the point past Jonas Gustavsson(notes) to force overtime. In the overtime, Simon Gagne(notes), making his first appearance in 18 games, beat Gustavsson to give the Lightning the come-from-behind win.

No. 3 Star: Pekka Rinne(notes), Nashville Predators

In just his third full season in the NHL, Rinne has already compiled 17 shutouts for the Predators as he added to his career total with a 33-save performance during a 3-0 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. Nashville's 27th ranked power play came through with two goals with the extra skater from Shea Weber(notes) and Cal O'Reilly(notes). The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Predators.

Honorable mention: Moments before St. Louis tied things, Maple Leafs forward Mike Brown(notes) blocked two shots on the same shift to preserve the lead for Toronto. Brown went to the locker room after that shift right before the tying goal with a potential broken finger ... Patrick Kane(notes) and Jonathan Toews(notes) each scored twice and recorded assists as Chicago survived a furious comeback from St. Louis during a 7-5 win ... Tomas Kopecky(notes) had a four-point night and Patrick Sharp(notes) scored for the fifth straight game ... Chicago's power play cashed in on three of their five opportunities ... David Backes(notes) and Vladimir Sobotka(notes) each had three assists, while Backes added St. Louis' final goal of the night ... Dustin Byfuglien(notes) scored his 10th goal of the season and Anthony Stewart(notes) put home the overtime winner as Atlanta got past Colorado 3-2. Ondrej Pavelec(notes) made 29 saves for his sixth straight win, breaking the team record for consecutive wins by a goaltender ... On the fifth anniversary of the trade that brought him to San Jose, Joe Thornton(notes) recorded his 500th point with the Sharks.
