Thursday's Three Stars: Hall's winner; Gerber's victorious return

No. 1 Star: Taylor Hall(notes), Edmonton Oilers

Last June's No. 1 overall pick delivered some late-game heroics as the Oilers knocked off the Colorado Avalanche 3-2. After the Avalanche clawed back from a 2-0 deficit, Hall was on the receiving end of a Jordan Eberle(notes) pass to tally the game-winner with 29 seconds remaining in the third period. Hall's winner was nice, but watching Eberle do work on John-Michael Liles(notes) was just as enjoyable:

No. 2 Star: Martin Gerber(notes), Edmonton Oilers

Making his first start in the NHL since April 11, 2009, Gerber stopped 35 shots for the win. Gerber also recorded an assist on Hall's winner. Dating back to the 2008-09 season, Gerber has won his last three starts in the NHL.

No. 3 Star: Matt Duchene(notes), Colorado Avalanche

Duchene assisted on Kevin Shattenkirk's(notes) goal and then scored his fifth of the season on the power play to tie the game at two in the second period.

Honorable mention: Shattenkirk scored his third goal of the season giving him six points in his past five games ... Andrew Cogliano(notes) snapped an 11-game goal drought with his second of the year.

Did you know? This was Edmonton's first win at home since October 10th.

Dishonorable mention: Paul Stastny(notes) finished a minus-3, putting him at minus-5 for the season.
