Taylor Stevens on Pete DeBoer's new distraction in St. Louis

San Jose Sharks coach Pete DeBoer coached his team against the St. Louis Blues in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final on Sunday night, a losing effort for the Sharks on the road. That’s a familiar sight in these playoffs for the coach, but many fans watching the game were distracted by another familiar playoff sight for DeBoer.

Yes, “Rally Boobs.” Which was a Twitter trending topic in St. Louis during the game.

Before one goes speculating that this is some poor fan caught in the crosshairs of television cameras and pervy social media gawkers, let it be known that this is very much by design. According to Busted Coverage – apropos – a Blues fan vowed that his wife would be attending Game 1 near the visitors’ bench and “they will be back.” She previously made an impression against the Dallas Stars in the previous round.

(And really, what a great husband, referring to any part of his wife's body as "them" to strangers. Yikes.)

Of course, if this is a calculated tactic to befuddle an opposing coach … well, it’s not like there isn’t already a boob, er, a book on DeBoer.

Please recall the 2012 Stanley Cup Final, when adult film star Taylor Stevens say behind the Los Angeles Kings bench and offered ample distraction to then-New Jersey Devils coach Pete DeBoer.

Everyone noticed. Paul Bissonnette congratulated her for giving CBC "it's biggest viewing audience in network history and half the people didn't even notice the game."

Stevens, a hockey fan and Toronto native, attended Games 4 and 6 at Staples Center, making international headlines with her appearances near the glass — wearing a tight white shirt in the Devils' Game 4 victory, and a black LA Kings shirt during their Stanley Cup win. Both shirts were put up for auction on eBay for charity, and ended up raising $1,000 for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and The Obesity Society.

So we decided to ask Stevens what she thought of the Blues front row display in the 2016 playoffs.

“Let's be honest: I think I started the trend without knowing that I actually started the trend I was just going to a hockey game as a huge sports fan,” she told Puck Daddy. “I think it's cool that women want to show off their sexuality but for me it wasn't intentional. There's nothing wrong with a great set of boobies – but mine were the best.”

As for DeBoer: In her expert opinion, is this his kryptonite?

“He seems to always get caught in these great screencaps. I'll take partial credit for that,” she said. “But in all honesty my boobies and those boobies have no affect on him. As the game goes on I'm sure we all know where his focus is. This whole thing is ridiculous! Any coach is focused on winning the Stanley Cup and that's that.”

Again, in her expert opinion: “If every girl with a D-cup wants to try and distract the coach, she’ll be sadly disappointed. Mine are Double-H and the hockey game went on.”

Well, yeah, it did … until the team DeBoer was coaching against won another large Cup.

Hey, the Sharks knew the Blues were going to be a handful ...
