Tampa Bay Lightning rolls Garth Brooks concerts out of Amalie Arena

To all those Tampa-area Garth Brooks fans … sorry.
Brooks’ three shows at Amalie Arena this week have been canceled due to the Stanley Cup Final. If you’re a Garth fan, that really stinks. If you’re not … oh well. The Lightning have home ice advantage! Also, if there's one artist who knows a thing or two about thunder rolling and lightning strikes, it would be Garth.
Via the Tampa Tribune:
Brooks was scheduled to perform with Trisha Yearwood at 7 p.m. Friday and two shows on Saturday at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
However, the Tampa Bay Lightning, which has home-ice advantage in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks, is scheduled to play Game 2 on Saturday at Amalie Arena.
Staff at the arena worked with officials from the Lightning and Brooks’ tour over the past 48 hours to reach a solution, including moving the Saturday shows to Sunday, but safety concerns made it impossible, according to a release from arena.
Concert goers will get a full refund per the story.
This is Brooks’ first tour in 13 years since coming out of retirement. There’s a Chris Gaines or a Garth at spring training with the Mets joke in here somewhere. Nah, but those are just fun instances to bring up.
