Last week, the hockey world went from fearing for the life of Sean Avery to happily wishing him a speedy recovering within two hours. A lacerated spleen is no joke, but it's also not cardiac arrest.
The New York Rangers' pest was released from the hospital, two days after being taken out of intensive care at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Now that Avery is free, he'll start to get his life back together, get healthy, and focus on his work.
No, not with the New York Rangers, but with Vogue magazine; you know, his summer internship.
People magazine is reporting that Avery is already getting a head start on his duties by hobnobbing with fashion bigwigs:
"But bed rest isn't the only thing on his agenda: Avery is keeping his prior commitment to attend one of New York City's most exclusive social engagements of the year: Monday night's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala. Avery, who is set to begin an editorial internship with Vogue in a week, will be attending the gala as a guest of the magazine, donning an Alexander McQueen suit."
Looks like Avery is progressing nicely already in his recovery. No word on if Brendan Shanahan will be at the party as well. He hasn't been seen since February.
Thanks to the fellas at Hugging Harold Reynolds for passing this our way.
