Puck Daddy’s 2014 NHL Trade Deadline Live Blog, Hour 6

2:50 p.m. ET - That Ryan Kesler trade is going to come down to the wire. After a fake account duped a number of hockey reporters, Rob Rossi set the record straight on what's going on:

It's a good, old-fashioned standoff. With ten minutes to go here, who blinks?

2:45 p.m. ET - Unsurprisingly, the Boston Bruins have added another veteran defender, as they were looking to do. Andrej Meszaros joins the Bruins from the Flyers for a third-round pick, according to Dan Murphy of Sportsnet.

2:40 p.m. ET - Wondering what the Leafs are up to?

Uh... they might be done.

2:30 p.m. ET - Still a half hour to go before the deadline, and then another hour before we can officially say all the trades are done, and there's a lot left to happen. Will Kesler move? It sounds like the Penguins are still pushing hard. And what about Matt Moulson? It sounds like the Minnesota Wild are close to acquiring him, but according to Nick Kypreos, the Ducks and Sharks are also still quite interested.

2:24 p.m. ET - The dream is over. For one beautiful day, Roberto Luongo and Tim Thomas were the goaltending tandem in Florida. But no longer, as Thomas has been moved to the Dallas Stars. Luongo is crushed:

Poor Luongo just can't win.

2:23 p.m. ET - The Oilers have sent Nick Schultz to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a fifth-round pick. Minor move there, but the Jackets get a decent NHL veteran to strengthen their group for a march towards the playoffs.

2 p.m. ET - The New Jersey Devils have acquired Tuomo Ruutu from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Andrei Loktionov and a conditional pick. This is an obvious salary dump for the Hurricanes, as Ruutu has two more years left on a deal that pays him an absurd $5 million per.

It won't take long for Ruutu to meet his old team. The Devils and the Hurricanes play on Saturday.
