Poland gives us hockey's worst own goal of 2015 (Video)

Puck Daddy

There are two days remaining in 2015 and we have a late entry for worst own goal of the year.

Follow me to Poland and let me introduce you to David Zabolotny, goaltender for JKH GKS Jastrzebie of the Polska Hokej Liga. They lost 3-0 in the Polish Cup semifinal on Tuesday and the game’s memorable moment came via the final goal of the evening.

Already down 2-0 and on a power play, Zabolotny left his crease to retrieve a loose puck that had entered JKH GKS Jastrzebie’s zone. For some reason Zabolotny, not pressured by any ComArch Cracovia player, decided to wheel around and fire the puck behind his own net.

That’s when, as the video shows via Reddit user pasqov, Zabolotny put on his bad idea jeans and shot the puck into his own net.

Just a terrible, lonely feeling that was probably not helped when Zabolotny was named the game's second star
