The Chicago Blackhawks unveiled their Winter Classic jersey on a live reveal online. The team says that they are an ode to the 1957 Blackhawks squad.

The release:

Inspired by the 1957 jersey worn by the Chicago Blackhawks, the white Winter Classic jersey features a lace-up collar and secondary logos on each sleeve; the secondary logos overlap the top two stripes on the sleeve rather than the traditional shoulder placement.

Here's another shot of Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews doing his best Derek Zoolander impression.

The main takeaway, besides Toews' modeling skills, from the jersey is that unlike the Capitals red and stripe-like uniforms, the Blackhawks went for a simple look. At first glance it might appear plain, but the logo is very much accentuated because of this. And we do know that the Blackhawks and their fans love their logo.

At very least, both teams (between the red and the white) will be highly discernable at Nationals Park on January 1.

So, what do you think? PASS OR FAIL ... Chicago Blackhawks 2015 Winter Classic jersey.
