It's my sincere hope that these guys met at the game and just sat together after realizing they were a complete set.
No. 1 Star: Corey Perry, Anaheim Ducks
Perry reached 20 goals on the season with two in the Ducks' 5-2 rout of the hapless New York Islanders, who are definitely about to fire their coach. Perry's goal with two seconds remaining in the second period was a thing of beauty. It also pushed his goal streak to 6 games.
No. 2 Star: Eddie Lack, Vancouver Canucks
Lack was perfect in his first NHL home start, stopping all 31 shots he faced for his first career shutout in the Canucks' 2-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
No. 3 Star: Clarke MacArthur, Ottawa Senators
Still blows me away that the Leafs let this guy go. MacArthur scored his 10th and 11th of the season as the Senators edged the Philadelphia Flyers, 5-4, in a shootout. Jason Spezza scored the shootout winner:
Honorable mention: The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1 on goals by -- you won't believe this -- Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby. Malkin's goal was pretty typical Malkin. When he gets going like this, you may as well quit:
Did you know? The Ducks have yet to lose a game in regulation at home. They're 11-0-2 at the building formerly known as The Pond.
Dishonorable mention: The Islanders have now lost 10 in a row. They're bad... Marc-Andre Fleury tried a shot at the empty net late in the Penguins' game, missing by inches. For his audacity, the hockey gods responded by taking away his shutout.
