No. 1 Star: Matt Murray, Pittsburgh Penguins

Murray was fantastic for the Penguins as they beat the Washington Capitals 3-2 to take a 2-1 series lead. The 21-year-old goaltender stopped 47 shots, including 19 in the third period. The rookie has now won five of his first six Stanley Cup playoff starts.

No. 2 Star: Alex Ovechkin, Washington Capitals

The Washington captain did all he could to help the Capitals come back from a 3-0 third period deficit. His wrister midway through the final period broke Murray's shutout bid as Ovechkin finished with 18 shot attempts, nine hits and a goal and an assist.

No. 3 Star: Carl Hagelin, Pittsburgh Penguins

Hagelin's third goal of the playoffs would stand as the game winner following a third period Capitals rally. The Swedish forward now has three goals and five points in his last four games.

Honorable Mention: Patric Hornqvist and Tom Kuhnhackl scored a minute apart in the first period to help the Penguins pounce early ... According to the AP, Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby played in their 108th playoff game, moving past Mario Lemieux for second on the franchise's list behind Jaromir Jagr's 140.
