Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov meet Tyler Durden

No. 1 Star: Jonas Hiller, Calgary Flames

The Chicago Blackhawks threw everything at Hiller, 50 shots in total, but could only muster a single goal past the Flames netminder. His evening would end with 49 saves and a 2-1 Calgary victory after Mikael Backlund scored 4:35 into overtime.

No. 2 Star: Mikkel Boedker, Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes routed up the Edmonton Oilers 7-3, with Boedker playing the biggest role in the victory. He tallied a hat trick and added an assist as Arizona won their second in a row. It was the first three-goal night of the Danes career, who is now tied with Wayne Simmonds for second in the NHL with five goals on the season.

No. 3 Star: Reilly Smith, Boston Bruins

Smith played the hero for the Bruins during their 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. After putting Boston ahead 2-1 midway through the second period, Smith scored the Bruins' second goal in the shootout to secure the extra point:

Honorable Mention: Simon Gagne made his debut for the Boston Bruins, which coupled as his 800th NHL game ... Jimmy Howard made 37 saves in the loss ... Shane Doan, Martin Erat and Martin Hanzal each recorded two points ... Arizona is now 11-0-3 in their last 14 games against Edmonton. They're 16-2-3 against the Oilers under Dave Tippett ... Oilers 2014 top pick Leon Draisaitl recorded an assist, his first NHL point ... Taylor Hall had a three-point night of his own in the loss, including this sweet assist to set up Mark Arcobello:

Did You Know? Bruins assistant coach Doug Houda took a puck to the noggin and returned with something to show from it:

Dishonorable Mention: While Chicago hit double digits in shots in each period of regulation, Calgary managed only two in the first period ... The Blackhawks had their chances, but only went 1-for-7 on the power play ... Ben Scrivens was in net for six of the seven Coyotes goals. He's now allowed 14 in three games played this season.
