Winter Storm (My Name Is) Jonas has forced the postponement of Friday’s Anaheim Ducks vs. Washington Capitals game at Verizon Center in D.C.

No makeup date has been determined just yet, and a decision on Washington's game on Sunday vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins game, set for 12:30 p.m. ET, will be made Saturday morning.

The Ducks-Capitals game was originally moved up from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. so Anaheim could beat the snow out of town on their way to Detroit, but everyone involved made the right decision here following the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency calling for a postponement

The storm could bring more than two feet of snow to the U.S. capital as D.C. prepares along with most of the east coast. Jonas has already forced the postponement of two Saturday NBA games in D.C. and Philadelphia, an AHL game in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame ceremonies, which were set for Friday night in Charlotte.
