New York City cops, firefighters brawl during charity hockey game (Video)

The New York City Police Department and Fire Department of New York have played one another in a charity hockey game for 41 years. There's a lot of pride involved and obviously both sides want to win the game and own bragging rights over their fellow first responders.

This year's edition got even more heated than usual, as both sides were involved in a bench clearing brawl Sunday afternoon at Nassau Coliseum.

(Some NSFW language.)

According to the New York Post, there was a 25-minute delay to cleanup the ice and figure out what the penalties would be.

Things would eventually cool off before the NYPD would claim an 8-5 victory and snap a five-game losing streak to the firefighters. Maybe they were just trying to recreate that episode of "Rescue Me"?
