Kevin Spacey attends Panthers game, beams at ovation (Video)

The moment the hockey world had been waiting for finally happened on Saturday night ...

KEVIN SPACEY ATTENDED A FLORIDA PANTHERS GAME!

George Richards reported the actor came to the rink in his namesake 'Spacey in Space' sweatshirt, with the hood up, and a photo cutout of his mug over his face.

Normally that would stand out, but the Panthers decided to give away cutouts of the House of Cards actor's face to all the good Floridians in attendance.

On Friday, the report was that Spacey would be out for the ceremonial puck drop. Instead, he opted to hang in the stands.

As in any great dramatic performance, Spacey let the drama and tension build. The first period ended without the man even being flashed on the jumbotron. He continued to hide behind the mask of himself.

With 11:53 to go in the second period, it finally happened.

THE DRAMATIC REVEAL.

For an actor as accomplished as Spacey, he is absolutely beaming as the 20,817 Panthers faithful gave him a standing ovation; a regular season attendance record, according to the team.

After the game, Spacey visted the team and posed for a picture.

You, too, can be part of the 'Spacey in Space' fun.

Earlier Saturday, the Panthers announced a special sale of replicas of the famous sweatshirt that spawned the movement. All proceeds go the Florida Panthers Foundation and Kevin Spacey Foundation.
