BOSTON – Jonathan Toews has earned the reputation of Captain Serious because, well, his spectrum of emotions usually runs from stoic to pleasantly stoic. But he was beaming after the Chicago Blackhawks won their second Stanley Cup in four years, 3-2 in Game 6 of the Final at the Boston Bruins.
Toews was especially happy to put over linemate Patrick Kane, who like Toews in 2010 won the Conn Smythe as playoff MVP.
“We said it last time when we won it in Philly: There’s a handful of guys that can win that trophy. But there’s nobody more deserving than Kaner,” he said.
