John Scott: Mike Milbury currently too fat to play me in movie

John Scott appeared on the NBCSN NHL pregame show on Tuesday night, talking about the aftermath of his incredible journey from fan campaign candidate to All-Star Game MVP.

So incredible was this journey that filmmakers have already contacted Scott’s agent to talk about potentially turning the story into a movie.

Scott was asked by host Liam McHugh: Who would you like to see play you in “The John Scott Story.”

“I think maybe Mike Milbury, right? That’d be perfect,” said Scott.

“He’d have to lose some weight.”

Milbury, for the unaware, is the NBC analyst who had savaged Scott’s election as Pacific Division captain. He called Scott’s line in the All-Star Game a “doughnut line, the hole in the middle” and that Scott would simply take “short shifts.” This was before Scott scored two goals in the game. His pettiness over Scott sparked a petition with over 11,000 signatures to get him removed from NBCSN.

Milbury was not on set to respond to Scott when he made the comment.

As for the movie, Scott said he was aware of the interest.

“Vince Vaughn, Liev Schreiber, I don’t know,” he said. “I saw an article where they’re casting people. But I could never see myself in a movie. I’m not that interesting.”

Many hockey fans would disagree, of course, given the interest Scott generated in the All-Star Game. What does the future hold for him? Hopefully some more years playing professionally, he said.

“I know I can still play. I know a lot of people don’t think that, but I can bring something to the table,” said Scott.
