Hockey fans never know when and where a new jersey design is going to leak. We’ve discovered them everywhere from overseas sports merchandisers to artists releasing designs on Twitter.
According to Reebok, the Calgary Flames are going to have a third jersey this season. Eagle-eyed reader Matthew Mahoney of Icethetics discovered these images in EA Sports’ ‘NHL 14’ after downloading a roster update off the Internet.
Check out the squared off shoulder yoke. It's one of the new styles Reebok unleashed on the NHL this year. We saw it on the new road jerseys for the Wild and Hurricanes. Makes sense that one of the new thirds would feature it.
The crest feels a bit inspired by the Buffalo Sabres' recently retired third jersey — the royal blue one. But it's the shoulder patch that throws me a bit.

As Chris points out, the jersey is reminiscent of the Buffalo Sabres’ recent thirds, but with the squared-off shoulders Reebok has been used on other newer jerseys.
