Hey, Los Angeles: Throw a pie in Wyshynski’s face for charity

I made a grave error this postseason, once again putting my faith in the San Jose Sharks to not only defeat the Los Angeles Kings but win the Stanley Cup. Hoo boy, was that dumb.

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Even dumber: Having the moxie to make a wager with an NHL mascot on that series. Which I did, with Bailey The Plushie Lion. His Kings beat the Sharks, and I am thus forced to accept my just desserts.

Literally: We bet a pie in the face on the series.

Which has now become pie(s) because we’re going with the series win and goal differential. So that’s four pies. My porcelain skin!

Anyway, to ensure that I am punished to the full extent of my humiliation for this misguided wager, the Kings are going to hold the pie toss between periods of Game 4 between LA and the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night at Staples Center.

And you can be a part of it, for a good cause.

The Kings are holding a charity auction to benefit the Kings Care Foundation, which assists a variety of non-profit organizations.

The winning bidder will receive two lower level tickets (Section 103 Row 12 Seats 5-6) to Kings vs Ducks Game 4 on Saturday, May 10th and the opportunity to throw a pie at me with Bailey during the same game. Winning bidder will also receive a stick signed by members of the 2013-2014 LA Kings.

VISIT HERE FOR THE CHARITY AUCTION. And bid with confidence!

Playoff hockey, charity and the chance to demean and degrade your humble editor. I can think of no better causes.
