The year was 1984. Clothes looked terrible. Songs were created with synthesizers. Sunglasses were worn … at night.
Corey Hart’s “Sunglasses At Night” made it all the way to No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 that year. And since he’s Canadian, the song has naturally inspired a college hockey team to create a short, but sublimely awkward, music video some 30 years later.
Here are the Colorado College Tigers with “Sunglasses At Night”:
Wow. The choreography on this one is … well, we’re assuming either the work of Tyce Diorio or Mia Michaels.
The Patrick Kane-ish lead in the video is Michael Morin, a senior forward from Plymouth, MN. His major? Economics. His minor? Being awesome.
Kudos to the Colorado College Tigers for this masterwork. We eagerly await their next 1984 musical opus: Might we suggest “jump” by Van Halen or "Cruel Summer" by Bananarama?
