Chicago Gay Hockey Association’s Christmas video will bring joy to your world

Ah, Christmastime … the lights, the presents, the choreographed music videos featuring Mariah Carey songs and hockey players.

Following in the grand tradition of the Belfast Giants (sadly, the video has been taken down), the Chicago Gay Hockey Association has produced its own version of “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, but ups the ante:

Rather than just adorable images of hockey players dancing goofily to a holiday classic, the players SING!

Like any team, there are a few skill position guys and a few plugs when it comes to the vocals, but darn it, they captured the spirit of the thing.

From the CGHA, a holiday message with the video, which has quickly gone viral:

The players of the CGHA have a very special holiday message for you!

We want you to put aside your differences. And to spend some time getting closer to your family and friends. If you take a step back and look, you may surprise yourself with how much you have in common with people. The person next to you on the train could become your best friend. After all, aren't we all just looking for love? Don't forget to laugh a little. And sing a little. Happy Holidays y'all!

Please recall that the CGHA was the organization that got the Stanley Cup into its first gay pride parade.

Thank you, Chicago, for making the yuletide gayer than usual this year. Really, is any holiday season going to now be complete without an ice skate kick-line?
