Bruins fans watched loads of porn after losing Stanley Cup to Blackhawks

As sports fans, we cope with defeat in different ways. In Boston after Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, they coped with the sweet embrace of online pornography apparently.

PornHub.com, a site with which you’ll claim not to be familiar, reports that Boston area traffic to the adult entertainment video host spiked in the 11 p.m. ET hour on Monday night to the tune of 21 percent higher than the typical viewership in the Boston area. When the game started, traffic was 25 percent lower than usual.

Eye on Hockey had the story and the following chart:

Via Brian Stubits of CBS Sports, this is what Pornhub is saying:

Last night marked the end of the NHL Championships, and much like the NBA Finals did, the battle for the Cup managed to take users away from their beloved porn once more. Until, of course the end of the game marking the Bruins' loss, which saw all of Boston turning to Pornhub to take out some of that pent up aggression.

Well, sure, in theory.

As the company said, there’s actually a trend here that goes beyond hockey. Check out this chart covering the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat (via I Love Charts):

Game 2 of that series was the Heat’s huge blowout of the Spurs.

Now, keep in mind PornHub has been aggressive in the past to use sports as a way to push its site in the spotlight, so grain of salt on all of this. You didn't really think they were going to have an ad during the Super Bowl, did you?
