Just because you're great at one sport, that doesn't mean the natural talent can translate to another. Marshawn Lynch is a great running back for the Seattle Seahawks. Then the NFL Network crews got a couple highlights of him swinging a golf club.
Oh, Marshawn. Obviously, you're not a golfer.
Lynch was playing at "The Big Golf Game," a fundraiser to benefit his "Fam 1st Foundation," which helps underprivileged youth in the Bay Area and elsewhere. And perhaps "playing" is an overstatement. Lynch's herky-jerky swing gives Charles Barkley's famously awful stop-and-go swing a challenge for the title of worst swing by a professional athlete.
So we know Lynch won't retire to join the PGA. Will he show up to Seahawks' training camp though? He reportedly isn't happy with his contract, though he reported to minicamp. He answered a question about whether he'll be at training camp to NFL Network in the most "Beast Mode" way possible.
"We'll talk about that when that time comes, boss," Lynch said.
It's impossible to read between the lines of that quote from the notoriously quiet Lynch. He probably would have said the same thing if he was asked what he was going to have for dinner. We'll wait and see what his next move is, but it's a good bet it won't involve golf.
