The 49ers' winning field goal literally went through the arms of a Packers defender

They call football a game of inches and, boy, they weren't kidding on Sunday night.

Minutes after Phil Dawson's winning field goal soared through the uprights, the crew at the Fox postgame show slowed down the video. What they found was kind of mind-blowing.

Yep, Dawson's kick somehow found its way THROUGH the outstretched arms of Packers defender Davon House, sending the San Francisco 49ers home with a 23-20 playoff win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Seriously, check it out in the screencap below:

There's a big asterisk on this highlight as House was whistled for offsides in a penalty that was declined by the 49ers. But I still don't think that takes away from the craziness of the play. The re-kick could have been blocked again or the snap could have been mishandled. When you're playing in the NFL under extreme conditions, there's no such thing as a guarantee.

Here's betting Dawson and Niners are happy the first one found its way through.
