Ryan Tannehill doesn't get any attention. Cam Newton, Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck ... those are stars. Nobody mentions Tannehill.
Yet, very quietly in Miami, Tannehill is becoming a very good quarterback. He showed that again on Sunday.
Tannehill drove the Dolphins downfield and threw a game-winning touchdown to tight end Dion Sims, a pretty pass over his shoulder near the goal line with 38 seconds left. That gave the Dolphins a 27-23 win, as Miami improved to 3-0 this season.
Tannehill was taken with the eighth overall pick in the 2012 draft behind some much bigger stars at his position, but he's no over-drafted and under-talented quarterback like Christian Ponder.
Tannehill was 25-of-35 for 236 yards, two touchdowns and an interception against the Falcons. He was great in the final five minutes, as he was very efficient in carving up Atlanta's defense during a 75-yard drive.
There are many reasons Miami is 3-0. Their defense has been pretty solid, and can rush the quarterback. Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas are a decent 1-2 punch at running back. But don't forget about Tannehill, even if the rest of the football world did this offseason when it was praising the other young quarterbacks in the league.
